Guild Membership fees are due in September of each year:

  • $20 single
  • $25 family (some families have more than one potter)

  • Demonstrations and sharing ideas on decorating, forming, and firing techniques at our monthly meetings
  • Exclusive exhibition, sale and display opportunities, including collaborative shows with other island guilds
  • Communal shared pug mill - available to all members

  • Access to our extensive library, including ceramic books, CDs, DVDs and subscriptions to a wide range of ceramic publications available at the Salt Spring Island Mary Hawkins library located in the village of Ganges
  • Sharing of local, national and international pottery resources and educational opportunities
  • Voting privileges at Salt Spring Island Pottery Guild meetings
  • Mentorships with experienced, professional Master Potter

 
Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at member's homes or studios. We have more than 40 members and are a mix of:

  • Full time professional potters who exhibit and sell in galleries and shows nationally and internationally and in their studios on Salt Spring.
  • Part time potters and clay sculpture artists who exhibit and sell on and off island
  • Beginning potters who show and sell with the Guild and primarily on island.

Salt Spring Island Potters Guild

Founded in 1969, we are one of the oldest potters' guilds in Canada. We welcome everyone interested in clay. Please drop in to our regular meeting on the third Thursday of the month and find out more about us. Our mission is to:

  • share the expertise and resources of our guild members
  • organize exhibitions, sales and special displays of members ' work
  • cooperate with other craft Guilds to mount collaborative shows
  • mentor and encourage beginners
  • provide learning opportunities
  • promote ceramics in our community
